(Edit: with heavy smoking, I guess I didn’t consider that some people may only need to strike their Bic 20 times a year, that’s understandable. Without refueling a clipper lasts 2 weeks to the bic’s 1 in my anecdotal experience. The plastic is thinner, so i’ve had some rupture when dropped wrong. You have to remove the safety on the wheel. I think I’ve only had to throw out 1 ever.īic fuel seems to run out faster and the spark doesn’t always throw well towards the fuel. But I still have 5+ year old clippers that work when I refill and reflint. If you are refilling, you do need to also keep an eye on the flint, because you can just be striking spring, as someone else said. I just find the clippers to be so much more reliable. I’m a fairly heavy smoker (pack a day + 3-5 joints- I am obviously not a thru hiker). Participate! Engage! Related Communitiesĭid we miss one? Message the moderators to let us know!
